The CloudWatcher is a high-precision, low-cost weather and safety monitoring system for astronomers and astrophotographers. The Solo is the CloudWatcher's trusty companion. In this video we'll go over what they each do and how they work together! The CloudWatcher monitors just about everything (cloudiness, rain, temperature, brightness—now in the form of sky quality measurements—, and optionally wind, relative humidity and dew point, and atmospheric pressure). It is designed to be installed outside as a safety monitor, with configurable alarms and script implementation so the user is warned, or the observatory is closed, etc. when conditions become unsafe. It can also work as a regular weather station for feeding information into images. With the Solo, the CloudWatcher becomes all the more powerful. The Solo is a mini-computer designed to control the CloudWatcher 24/7, among other things allowing you to publish the data online so it can be accessed from anywhere.
