In the closing months of 1944 and into early 1945, US infantry forces struggled through freezing conditions to hold back the last major German offensives of WW2. Painting your winter-equipped troops for the 'Battle of the Bulge' or anywhere along the line of resistance isn't difficult at all! READ MORE: Using simple block colours and an appropriate shade you can paint large numbers of infantry quickly and effectively using any miniatures appropriate to the winter months in the European Theater of Operations. This US infantry miniature comes from Artizan Designs, which I've chosen for their slightly chunkier proportions and more exaggerated details; it takes a lot to knock the barrel off these Garand rifles! One thing that I didn't mention due to it not appearing on this miniature is the matter of webbing! At this late stage in the war you'd probably find most US infantry with green webbing and pouches (I'd use Vallejo Pastel Green for this) although it's far from impossible that some of them would still be being issued the sandy beige webbing (Vallejo Iraqi Sand or German Camo Beige).
