Ingredients: 1 Chayote Lotus Seed (Lin Ji) Makhana (Chi Sat) Chinese Yam (Wai San) Orange Peel (Guo Pei) Pork Bones (We used pork neck bones) Dried Lily Bulbs (Bak hap) Tofu Skin (Fu Jok) 4 Qts water Pork Bones Salt to your liking Procedure: I apologize, my Popo really confused me about which herbs she soaks and blanches. I did my best to organize what she said. Soak the Tofu Skin in water overnight in cold water. If you don’t soak it overnight just add it earlier to the soup. Lotus Seed (Lin Ji) – Soak overnight and then bring to boil and discard water Makhana (Chi Sat) – Rinse and clean it Dried Lily Bulbs (Gam Zam) - Rinse and clean it Chinese Yam (Wai San) - Soak overnight and clean it Blanch your pork bones of your choosing, we used neck bones. You don’t have to use bones. Put them in a pot of water and bring them to a boil, then dump the water out and reserve the bones. Wash, peel, cut & remove the seeds from the Chayote and set aside. Now to make the soup, in a large pot with 4 quarts of water add your: Lotus Seed (Lin Ji) Makhana (Chi Sat) Dried Lily Bulbs (bak hap) Orange Peel (Guo Pei) Chinese Yam (Wai San) Pork Bones Bring to a boil and then turn the temp down to medium and cook for 30 mins. After 30 mins strain any fat from the bones. Then add the Chayote and Lily Bulbs and cook for another 20 min on medium. Finally add your soaked tofu skins and cook for another 10 mins on medium heat.
