THE BREATH OF LIFE - A short meditation As a music coach, therapist and life coach, I have spent years equipping, empowering and motivating others to flourish. I'm used to holding space for vulnerability - but disclosing my own can feel very exposing. After much wrestling, I've decided to share a deeply personal reflection that came out of crisis, trauma, and ultimately - transformation. It is a spontaneous, unpolished, late-night recording that I felt compelled to make. Because sometimes, in our most broken moments, we encounter the most profound truths. As a professional flute player I studied breath with precision and intensity. As a coach and therapist, I showed others how to use their breath to change state, fast. Then, in the aftermath of the sudden, catastrophic loss of my partner, breathing took on a whole new purpose. It became my lifeline - my way back from anxiety, breakdown and heartbreak. When I couldn't even find words to pray, simply focusing on my breath became a rhythm to escape the overwhelming chaos and confusion, to gently return from fight-flight-freeze back into parasympathetic rest; moments of peace and my faith in love restored. This reflection explored my contemplations on breath, spirit, life, and the connections between them. The whole recording is about 10 minutes long, which I have also split into 5 short videos for ease, with part 3 being a simple one-minute meditation anyone can use. ✨Part 1: a brief introduction inviting you into a space of peace and rest. ✨Part 2: breath as Spirit. ✨Part 3: a simple one-minute meditation (that you can use without context). ✨Part 4: going deeper into the name of God in breath: Yod Hey Vav Hey. ✨Part 5: the calming, healing biology of the parasympathetic nervous system.
