King of Pain - tribute by The Policed ft. Anna Rune

King of Pain is a cover of the original song by The Police. This version is created by Tribute band The Policed (www.thepoliced.com) together with the extremely talented Anna Rune (winner of the Dutch Singer Songwriter contest) – see www.annarune.com. Following the success of the band's tribute version of "Roxanne" and “Every Breath You Take”, this song has only been slightly edited from its original version. We added the dual vocals – the battle between singer Anton and Anna.. and adjusted some minor details of the song - and we added the birds from the garden :-). King of Pain is from the Synchronicity album of The Police. It is actually the last published hit (1983), before The Police broke up (more or less) in 1984. Like in Every Breath You Take, the pain that Sting describes is from his broken marriage. Other great versions of this song are from Allanis Morisette (1999) and Sting with Lady Gaga (2013, a must see!). This tribute song was recorded in the VanMerloot Music Pros Hilversum. Technical engineering, production, mixing, mastering and mental coaching by Juan van Emmerloot. The video and audio recording were all done in just a couple of hours, what a smooth process!
