A huge paper factory is planned for central Galicia. It would cover 366 hectares of land, use as much water as the entire region of Lugo and threaten the area's biodiversity. Eucalyptus monocultures would displace native chestnut and oak forests. Because of their deep roots, these invasive tree species lower the water table and cause devastating forest fires. Cellulose Invasiva is a visual narrative without words, juxtaposing Galicia's intact cultural landscape with the potential threat in an associative way.
