The Mixtour Pro is, in a word, impressive. The build quality gives a decent impression of higher-end equipment, while packing zillions of 4-deck features into the footprint of a large mailing envelope. The use of independent transport controls (Play/Pause, Cue, etc.) makes this a true “decks and effects” controller, with its modular size contradicting its all-in-one nature. As is common with niche products, its greatest strength is also its greatest weakness. Limited real estate means that many functions are hidden behind multiple button-presses, or need to be supplemented by your keyboard or touch screen. 00:00 | Introduction 01:18 | Features & Layout 07:32 | Using FX 09:26 | Stems (Neural Mix) 11:29 | Ports & Connections 12:00 | Bonus Features 15:09 | Wrapping Up The Mixtour Pro improves on its predecessor in many ways, and is meant to provide everything that you need in a club or festival setup in a tiny, portable footprint. It will be up to you to decide whether the “Pro” tag lives up to its name; I have my doubts, starting with the lack of XLR ports or booth outputs, but Laidback Luke seems to be doing fine with it on the road. Basically, this collaboration with Reloop takes the Mixtour to a whole new level, with four channel control, access to Stems, and all of the other great things you get with Algoriddim Djay such as streaming music access with Apple Music, Tidal, SoundCloud, Beatport and Beatsource. Today we’re gonna talk about what else you get for its $500 price tag.
