The Kouri Richins trial featured a mountain of evidence, and one attorney said that likely made the difference for the jury. Former prosecutor and current defense attorney Nathan Evershed said it took a lot of guts from the prosecution to even file the case, but they came with a ton of evidence that was just too much for the defense to defend against. Evershed had high praise for the prosecution team. "[It] has to be one of the most persuasive and effective presentations of evidence we've ever seen in a Utah courtroom,” he said.
