Along with a work sample, teaser or trailer, pitch decks are becoming more and more necessary as a means of raising funds for our documentaries. However, there aren't many places where one can see examples of pitch decks, even online. In this special D-Word F2F event, Emmy-nominated designer, animator and director Yasmin Mistry joins moderator Dour Block to discuss what makes for an effective pitch deck. Much of the session has Yasmin sharing her own pitch deck for her film-in-progress "Together," and breaking it down section by section. Afterwards, some time was left over for an audience Q&A. ABOUT OUR GUEST: Yasmin Mistry's work has been displayed worldwide, including showings at the United Nations and White House as well as at film festivals such as SXSW, Tribeca and DOC NYC. She is the recipient of grants from the Annie E. Casey Foundation, Brooklyn Arts Council, Jerome Foundation, Riverside Sharing Fund, Artists Volunteer Center, and Harnisch Foundation, in addition to being a two-time finalist for the ITVS Diversity Development Fund.
