Still with a V6, the 2025 Ford Ranger 2.7L Review // The Ranger to get?

This is a Motormouth couple car review of the 2025 Ford Ranger 2.7L EcoBoost V6 mid-size pickup. There are three powertrain options, the base Ford Ranger engine is a 2.3L turbocharged 4-cylinder with a 10-speed automatic transmission, 270 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque. The 2.7L twin turbocharged V6 has 315 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque. The Raptor is powered by a 3L Ecoboost V6, 405 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque. Ford reengineered the suspension, powertrains, connectivity, advanced driver assist software and improvements have been made to the fully boxed high strength steel frame on the new Ford Ranger. The Ranger has a 5-foot bed with a maximum payload of 1,805 pounds and can tow 7,500 pounds. The wheelbase of the Ford Ranger is 2” wider creating more interior space with improved fit and finish and new technology. It comes standard with an 8” digital driver display and a 10” touchscreen. There are larger screens available, a 12.4” driver display and 12” touchscreen. The Ranger has tons of storage with a large centre console storage bin, big door pockets, an available second upper glovebox and Ford has improved second row storage with under-seat rear cargo bins, new fold-flat rear seats and there’s room behind the seats to store tools or other equipment. The XLT model we are driving does not have push button start. I have to say it’s weird using a key, definitely feels old school. The Lariat model has push button start.
