Come with us to the highest natural point in Michigan. Mount Arvon, located in the Huron Mountains of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, is considered the state’s official high point. But there are a lot of asterisks. For one, the hardest part about getting to this peak is driving the logging roads to the trailhead’s parking lot. And while it is the highest natural point, it’s not actually the highest point in the state. That honor goes to a stockpile of sediment at the UP’s Tilden mine that peaks just above 2,000 feet.
