Facing Your Giants

God’s desire is that His children would grow in maturity. In our journey of life, we all face obstacles, otherwise known as ‘giants’, that can stand in our way to block us from becoming all that God designed us to be. ‘Giants’ represent anything that opposes God in your life. ‘Giants’ are problems, pressures, pains and persecutions that we face. A ‘giant’ is anything that distracts us from our focus on God, detours us from our service for God, and drains us of our driving passion for God. In this sermon, we look at Matthew 5:3 to discover what it means to be ‘poor in spirit’ and how being poor in spirit helped David to defeat his giant! God wants to help us defeat our ‘giants’ too (the giants of pride, loneliness, fear, insecurity etc). Being poor in spirit is a significant key in living an overcoming life. Through Christ, we can do all things. Through Christ, we are more than overcomers. Through Christ, we can face our ‘giants’!
