Welcome to the world’s largest sand island! We are talking about the mesmerising K’gari (formerly Fraser Island) which has a landscape that ranges from lush tropical rainforest, to pristine sandy beaches to luxe streams, freshwater lakes and rivers! We’ll dive into the island’s rich history including the haunting remains of the logging trade at Central Station in Pile Valley and visit the once-majestic SS Maheno (now an incredible shipwreck!). We also create some unforgettable adventure moments at Champagne Pools and Lake Wabby. However, no visit to K'gari is complete without floating down Eli Creek on an inflatable ring!! And the piece de resistance is definitely taking a dip in what has been rated one of the best swimming lakes in the world - Lake McKenzie. Its crystal clear waters will leave you breathless. Along the way we share our 4WD tips and tricks, especially for rookies who are either new to 4WDing or new to 4WDing on K’gari! I also show you the two main resorts on the island, K’gari Resort & Kingfisher Bay Resort. Don’t worry - I’ll make you a specific recommendation depending on what you need! We visit some of the shops and stores and some of the more ‘off the beaten track’ sites (like the Ceratodus shipwreck!) that are not known to many.
