Hamburg is the second city of Germany, after Berlin. It’s a megalopolis anchored to the Elb river. A gigantic harbor endlessly spreads over the southern part of the city. We made a long city-trip in the center of Hamburg, during a very shiny day off. The atmosphere is full of tourists and local personality enjoying the sun on the docks, bars and parks. 0:00 - Hamburg Hauptbahnhof. The gigantic main station of Hamburg. Arriving by the S3 line, sounds of the trains. An ICE train leaving to Karlsruhe and a completely desesperated guy missing his train. 11:20 - Binnenalster, Ballindamm. On the dock, pigeons flirting. 12:48 - Binnenalster, Alsterpavillon. The Elb (or Elbe) river is like a big lake. It’s extremely traveled by tourists. This is a short walk in the middle of a devastating mass tourism. Huge amounts of tourists drinking, people in the bars, regular calls from tourist boats. 21:44 - On the pontoon. Landungsbrücken near the Elbphilharmonie. Some tourist boats berthing. At the backyard, sounds of the Hamburg shipyard. 27:52 - Annenstraße & Paulinenplatz. Children playing in a park, with the parents. 33:12 - Hauptkirche St. Petri & Speersort. A small demonstration in the street. One hundred people want more refugees in Germany. Catholic speech and religious song. 36:30 - Sankt-Pauli-Elbtunnel. The tunnel establishes the link below the Elb river. The tunnel is mostly cycleable and pedestrian. Sound of the lifts, and crossing all the tunnel by feet. 42:52 - Planten un Blomen, Großer spielplatz. Into the huge botanic garden of Hamburg, a colossal amount of children playing in the park. 47:22 - Grasbrookpark at 12AM. Children playing in a park, with the parents. 50:50 - The train going to Neuwiedenthal on evening. Some turkish people talking loudly and a very angry woman with a bike. 58:12 - Hauptkirche St. Michaelis. The very good and pleasant bell of this Lutheran church, ringing at 10AM. Into the park, song of a blackbird and pedestrians walking onto the gravels.
