MD Helicopters Press Conference, Heli-Expo 2019

The Vertical Flight Society recorded a number of media events at the Helicopter Association International (HAI) Heli-Expo 2019 trade show held at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, Georgia. On Tuesday afternoon, March 5, 2019, we recorded the MD Helicopters (MDHI) press conference. CEO Lynn Tilton spoke about MDHI's recent military helicopter orders and deliveries; development plans for the MD969 (an upgraded MD902); and confirmed that MDHI has submitted a proposal for the US Army’s Future Attack Reconnaissance Aircraft (FARA). The company's FARA competitor is a 200 kt helicopter based on the MD969 known as Swift that will have an enhanced NOTAR system and a wing to achieve high-speed flight. In addition, we recorded Airbus, Bell Nexus, Robinson and Sikorsky press conferences and product announcements and spoke with other Heli-Expo exhibitors such as Jeffrey Bennett, SureFly Project Manager.
