DMK Moves To SC, Files Affidavit Against Contentious CAA Bill | Mirror Now

The Supreme Court has once more heard from the Tamil Nadu DMK government in opposition to the CAA. The DMK has submitted an affidavit in the top court stating that the bill is discriminatory. Tuesday, DMK contended before the Supreme Court that the CAA breaches the fundamental principles of secularism by drawing differences based on religion. The party claimed that it is also anti-Tamil because it does not subject Tamil refugees to the legal system. In an affidavit provided by its organising secretary R S Bharati, the Tamil Nadu government sought with the supreme court to strike down the modification. The amendment has also been opposed by people from various backgrounds.
