When someone is pointing a shotgun in your face, being lazy about response will get you killed. Now, Big Dick Jack Wilson also had some tough decisions. He was at the back of the church and to initially take a shot would have had to shoot over all the people seated in front of him. He had his hand on his gun for about 5 seconds and didn't draw until two people were shot and killed. Action beat reaction, get that gun out! Be aware that someone standing up in the middle or church who was known to be a problem requires attention. These are the lessons that must be learned and studied. A security person could have sat right next to the shooter and peg him into the seated area, making it more difficult for them to leave easily. Etc. In the end, I am glad someone killed the shooter. But let's not just say "A good guy with a gun stopped a bad guy with a gun. Because it is not just because he has a gun, or you have a gun.
