He was started singing since childhood. when he was 9 years old, then he gave his first live performance front of huge audience. He learned music from Ustad Puran Shah Koti. Who is also the ustad of Hans Raj Hans, Jasbir Jassi and Diljaan. He got married to Rita and after his marriage, he has four children. His Son Alex Koti is also a good singer. He was died on Thursday, 25 January 2018 after a prolonged illness. He was a gem of Punjabi Music Industry and his sudden death is a big loss of Punjabi Music Industry.
