This video is one of the pre-recorded lectures from that course that I would like to share with a larger audience. Feel free to respectfully comment and question and I will respond in kind. In this 11th Lecture of the Series, we discuss the epitome of "Bad Theology Kills": Suicide. We begin with some statistics and the History of Roman Catholic Church teaching, as well as Biblical accounts on the subject. By using "Queer Imagination" we then reexamine Jesus' life as a marginalized person who is forced to leave his hometown and family and live in the desert where he undergoes temptations ranging from starving himself, power, and suicide. Did Jesus want to die? What changes him during his ministry? What role does faith play in his resurrection?
