RhB locomotive "Heidi" is steaming again! Nomen est omen. The story of the RhB steam locomotive G 3/4 No. 11 "Heidi" is almost analogous to the story that the fictional character "Heidi" experienced. Both left their homeland and were abroad. Both returned to Graubünden and were happy in their homeland. In the case of the locomotive, the members of Club 1889 were happy that they were able to bring this locomotive back to the RhB in 2000. The members of Club 1889 put a great effort and a lot of passion into restoring, overhauling and modernizing the locomotive. It was a very clever idea to convert the locomotive to burn light oil, as this means that the locomotive can also be used in summer, which is becoming increasingly important as summers get warmer and drier. Of course it's nice to see the locomotive live today and it's a good idea to give away a ride on the Club 1889 trains, for example - but for those interested, the film is also a documentation of the life of locomotive 11, which was used in the filming of the Heidi film in the summer of 1951. The fictional character Heidi, the locomotive Heidi and the area around Bergün simply belong together. The historic wagons of the Club 1889 with the Heidi locomotive take the fellow travelers into the romantic mountain world of the fictional character. Many thanks to everyone who helped in any way to ensure that the RhB G 3/4 No. 11 "Heidi" can be enjoyed and kept in operation today in this excellent condition.
