P.I Tchaikovsky did not care much about Brahms and vice versa was even stronger so I find particularly funny that during the same year of 1878 they both wrote their magnificent , first & only violin concertos in assistans in violin part from violinist named Joseph- Joseph Kotek and Joseph Joachim. During the same year of 1878 one more violin concerto was written . For Henryk Wieniawski it was his no 3 and the last composition he ever wrote. He premiered it in Moscow on Dec 27 1878 to a great success. with revues in local press. Unfortunately since than his concerto is missing. Wieniawski died in Moscow 13 months later after his friend Nikolai Rubinstein found him in Maryjski Hospital for poor. You see Wieniawski was inDec 1878 already ill but he probably had additional heart attack when his Russian impresario run away with all his money. Penniless to proud to ask for help, probably with stroke or heart attack he landed in Maryjski Hospital for Poor in Moscow. When Nikolai Rubinstein found him he immediately moved him to residence of the greatest patronesse of art - Nadezhda von Meck. but it was to late to save him. I know that there are music lovers in every corner of this world . If it was possible to discover in New York Fryderyk Chopin's few magical bars there is a new hope that one day, in Moscow someone will find not a few bars but entire violin concerto so we all could enjoy it.
