Make a note for October 1 feature video on 2025 Cowboy. I’m hoping many of you read my story today because it reveals many of the reasons for the rankings. Libby’s narration is enlightening for sure, but I think my story here will add to the impact of this video. To begin, we need to talk about the “honorable mentions”. Bulls like Turkey, 22, Left Hook, Boris, MisMatch, Van Gogh, Oscar the Grouch and Mack are all very big bulls but none of them made the list. These bulls just got beat by other big bulls and their traits. So as not to give away the order before you watch it…I’ll have to go random here, in no particular order. Mr T makes the list for his dominance, his antler spread and his reputation for not backing down from any fight. Swagger makes it just for his huge body size, even with his spindly antlers. Hook makes the list even though he actually was not that big a bull. His amazing antlers just make him a “must include” bull. And we never even got to see him in his prime, when he was really crazy with his rack. Lastly, Cowboy makes the list just on his potential. He exploded in growth this year, and showed up very heavy, reminding me of King James. When you see his ranking it should give you an idea just how big he is. I’ll stop here so as not to give more away, but I’ll finish up saying the rankings were determined by many “big” factors, rather than just the size of the animal. This is 10 years of filming, hiking, gratitude, and documenting the moose rut.
