The Castelguelfo Castle is a medieval manor that stands along the Via Emilia in Castelguelfo, a small hamlet of the municipality of Noceto, in the province of Parma. The castle develops on a square plant, around the central courtyard, with two towers on the north side and others at the center of the east and south prospects; The large park with lake and west of this, around the large courtyard, is developed in the south and in the East, the numerous attached buildings are raised, originally intended for greenhouses, stables and mills, in addition to the nineteenth -century oratory. Access to the complex is represented by the large all -sixteenth -century arcata in the ancient Rivellino, located east of the castle towards via Emilia; The building, crowned with swallow -with -tailed battlements, is flanked by a neo -Gothic style construction, built as concierge. The fortress, entirely clad in brick, faces north with a tall façade flanked by two corner towers; the façade is characterized by numerous corbels with machicolations, supporting the ancient covered walkways. Similar architectural elements continue along the other façades, of which the southern one, renovated in the early 20th century, is preceded by a central entrance tower; the two corners jut out onto the adjacent sides, of which the western one opens onto the park through another central tower. Inside, the elegant central courtyard is surrounded by a portico with an overhanging loggia. The annexed buildings, spread across two main complexes, also feature characteristics similar to the castle: brick cladding, corbels, battlements covered by tiled roofs, and porticoes with medieval features.
