It was built as part of the N25 New Ross Bypass. The Bridge officially opened on 29 January 2020 by Taoiseach Leo Varadkar with Rose Katherine Kennedy, a grandchild of Robert Ethel Kennedy. It was opened to public on 30 January 2020. It is the longest bridge in Ireland. The 887m bridge- which contains as much as steel in Eiffel Tower - is named in honour of Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy, mother of brothers John F.
