After a quick pack-up and a mental check-in, it was time to point my handlebars towards Salida, Colorado – a town I'd heard so much about. The ride was a mix of challenging climbs and breathtaking descents, with the stunning Colorado landscape keeping my spirits high. I had the exercise patience waiting for my Garmin to charge which is my lifeline, guiding me through remote sections and ensuring I stayed on track for the Divide. It's incredible how much you come to rely on these devices out here! And then, I arrived in Salida! What a town! From the moment I rolled in, I was struck by its incredibly convivial atmosphere.
