In this video I show a sweep called the Bench Press Sweep. This is a medium/low percentage sweep but it really gives you a different concept of controlling the leg, specifically the relationship between stretching and pulling your knees to your chest. You can see I try and get my opponent's butt to hit the floor. This is going to be a deciding factor in if you finish a lot of these sweeps. Keep in mind, with this entry it's difficult to get your opponent's butt to hit the floor but there are many different entries into Deep Half. In the future I will show an entry off of the armbar and off of butterfly. When you use these alternate entries often times your opponent's butt will already be on the floor in which case this becomes a high percentage sweep. Key points for this sweep include controlling the leg down by the ankle, making sure your opponent's leg does not bend by turning that quad out (think kneecap towards the ceiling) and make sure when you come up that you turn so that you come into the leg drag position and not in between their legs (which will lead to your back being taken).
