Learn about the ThroBak restored, KZ/LP-115 P.A.F. guitar pickup winder. The vintage pickup winder bought by Gibson in 1950 that was rescued from the salvage yard by Les Paul himself! ThroBak Electronics has gathered a working museum of vintage Gibson P.A.F. and P90 guitar pickup winders. Perhaps the most important among them is the KZ/LP-115 pickup winder. This machine was purchased by Gibson in 1950 for P90's and became one of the machines that wound the very first vintage PAF pickups of the 1950's. This workhorse of 1950's Gibson pickup production was rescued from the Gibson Kalamazoo factory by none other than Les Paul himself. Les Paul was invited by Gibson to take any equipment he needed that was not destined for Nashville as part of Gibson's move from their Historic Kalamazoo factory. Les Paul saw the need to save the KZ/LP-115 and brought it to his New Jersey home. In 2015 ThroBak Electronics purchased the now iconic machine at the Guersey's action of Les Paul's studio equipment and historical artifacts. ThroBak Electronics restored the KZ/LP-115 and has it back in use making ThroBak's world renowned P.A.F. and P90 replica guitar pickups.
