Welcome back to my channel! Today I’m dispelling common myths surrounding vaginismus that you may have heard which are just not true. They can be incredibly discouraging and quite hurtful. Check out my previous video linked below for an overview on vaginismus -causes, types and treatment. • What is vaginismus? Symptoms, Causes, Type... Please check out the amazing organisation called The Vaginismus Network (https://www.thevaginismusnetwork.com/) for more resources, support and guidance. There are some services which patients can self-refer directly, whilst for others a GP would need to refer them on first. Available services include COSRT (College of sexual and relationship therapists): https://www.cosrt.org.uk/ and the Institute of Psychosexual Medicine: https://www.ipm.org.uk/ Timestamps: 00:00 Myth no. 1 -“𝙄𝙩’𝙨 𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙞𝙣 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙝𝙚𝙖𝙙 and you can control what’s happening to you” 00:31 Myth no. 2 “𝙔𝙤𝙪’𝙧𝙚 𝙟𝙪𝙨𝙩 𝙨e𝙭 𝙖𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙚” 01:18 Myth no. 3 “𝙏𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙞𝙨 𝙣𝙤 𝙘𝙪𝙧𝙚” 01:52 Myth no. 4 “𝙈𝙖𝙮𝙗𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙞𝙧 penis 𝙞𝙨 just 𝙩𝙤𝙤 𝙗𝙞𝙜” 02:21 Myth no. 5 “You just need to relax” 02:53 Summary and Outro I hope you found this useful and it’s helped to bust the myths surrounding vaginismus or at least taught you what not to say to someone who struggles with vaginismus.
