We [inaudible 00:00:22] breast cancer, we screen, we want to raise awareness, and we're just honored to be here sharing with everyone who is raising consciousness about this disease. [Women holding big check] [Cristina Vieira, Radiologist, Baptist Health Breast Center] Breast cancer affects everybody. About 250,000 women this year alone will be diagnosed with breast cancer, so breast cancer touches all of us. It's our mothers, it's our sisters, it's our grandmothers, it's our friends, it can be ourselves. It touches so many lives in so many communities that we have to bring the message out to the public about breast health and breast cancer awareness, and what they can do to minimize their risk and to get a cure if they do get breast cancer. [Gerri Emkey, Breast Cancer Survivor] It's overwhelming that I had such a terrible thing happen, but because everybody supports you... It's like I feel there's more supporters than the ones who actually have it. [Jim Moon, Director of Pastoral Care, South Miami Hospital] It has a very personal touch for me because not only do I have my sister-in-law who's a survivor, but unfortunately, my mother, and my dad's mom--my grandmother--died of cancer. So it's very personal for me, and I want to do everything I can to help. [Women running, and people participating in the Breast Cancer race] [End Transcript]
