This is a June 2022 tour of the basement art and frame workshop I set up mainly for artists to save money by framing their own artwork. The frame equipment includes: three professional mat cutters, used to cut the bevel opening in a mat. - one giant 60" wall mounted cutter that cuts the outside dimension of the mat and backing boards - a Morso miter frame chopper - 4 heavy miter vices - 2 nail guns - 2 air compressors to run the nail guns and blow dust off art and glass - ATG tape dispenser - point driver - and other items used to frame pictures. I also have a 55" TV so the artist can view the many different "How to Frame" videos I have up on You tube. (It also has a sound bar and sub woofer great for listening to your favorite music.) Also included in the space is art equipment: a 10' light table - a 23,000 lumens projector and a small projector used to project images directly from cell phones on to your art paper.) - A kiln and molds used to make pottery and slump glass - paper making equipment - many rollers to experiment with for print making - two 44" X 64" vacuum presses (one also heats) an Art Inspiration Gaming Wheel - Steampunk Computer - Printer/Scanner and misc. I am still trying to figure out what to charge for the use of all the stuff and the space. My first thought was 10 cents a minute. I really wanted it to be affordable for everyone. I am now leaning towards $10.00 for the first hour or $20.00 for 3 hours and then 10 cents a minute after that. The frame shop is so buried in work I don't have time to be in the basement helping. Here in the frame shop I charge $1.00 a minute for my time ($60.00 an hour) which would not save artists much money if they need too much of my time. ... At the end of the video you hear me say: "put this on ebay" but I meant to say "You tube" Many years ago I was in and out of different antique malls and sold on ebay. My antique shop name is Cobweb Secrets. If you search the name we still come up. (That is why you see all the old stuff jammed in the basement!
