Lawrence of Arabia is A STRAIGHT MOVIE. There is ZERO gay stuff going on here. There’s definitely not a beautiful and tragic romance here between Peter O’Toole and Omar Sharif. Alec Guiness and Anthony Quinn and Claude Rains also aren’t playing it very gay, either, nor are many others. O’Toole isn’t queening out and preening at various times. There’s no tender touches between guys. There’s definitely at least one woman who has a speaking role in this movie about a bunch of straight men who are perfectly able to express themselves at home or on the frontier. I definitely didn’t just release a podcast on this movie—Lawrence of Arabia (1962), directed by David Lean—and Warlock (1959), directed by Edward Dmytryk, which is also great and 100% straight. The guest of that episode is definitely not @Megan , and she definitely didn’t pick this movie and show up with one of the coolest lockets that I’ve ever seen. It wasn’t a heart-shaped locket with O’Toole and Sharif from the movie.
