Hello everyone, welcome to SA Today on 17 October 2025. We begin today's video with a big fire at Glencairn, Cape Town. It was a sunny day at Hotazel today. We show Flysafair’s new livery and SAA arriving from Johannesburg, Cape Town International Airport. Placid Waters, Sedgefield, Western Cape Province. Aardvark hole near Noenieput in the Northern Cape. A peaceful day at Hartenbos and Mossel Bay. Next, we head to the Tokwana River Gorge near Mount Fletcher, and we will also show you several other locations across South Africa today. The weather forecast across South Africa today is as follows: Cold and rainy weather will be prevalent over eastern Limpopo Province and Mpumalanga Province as a cold front approaches. In contrast, the western interior will experience warm to hot conditions. Thunderstorms are expected to develop in Namibia, with the system advancing into Botswana and eventually reaching the northern regions of the Northern Cape Province and parts of North West Province. The South African Weather Service has issued a Yellow Level 2 warning for severe thunderstorms with heavy downpours, which may cause localized flooding in low-lying areas, along with risks of small hail, strong winds, and excessive lightning, particularly over central parts of North West. Extremely high fire danger is forecasted for the Northern Cape Province, western North West Province, Free State Province, and parts of the Western and Eastern Cape Province.
