Esophagitis is a condition caused by inflammation in the esophagus. Eosinophilic esophagitis is a chronic or long-term immune condition that occurs when eosinophils accumulate in the esophagus, causing inflammation. Difficulty swallowing, vomiting, abdominal pain, chest pain and heartburn are some of the symptoms that occur from EOE, and they may differ based on the child’s age.
