In this video I demonstrate my process for coloring an ornament that pops right off the page with dynamic shadows and soft lighting from multiple sources using colored pencils. While you can achieve this same look using almost any colored pencils that suit your own individual coloring style, I use a mixture of Arteza Expert and Prismacolor Premier colored pencils. I also talk about why I often mix different colored pencil brands to achieve the best outcomes. I usually use many layers and rework areas to get just the right effect, but I always encourage you to take what works best for you from the demo and incorporate it into your own style. I am putting out this tutorial in conjunction with Coloring Book Cafe's 5-Day Christmas Coloring Challenge which will run from Dec. 13th to Dec. 17th 2021. You can register for this competition until Dec. 13th 2021. Registration to enter the competition is free and includes 10 free Christmas page pdfs from their newest Christmas coloring books released this year.
