The dataset that is examined is made up of a handful of proper names that either take the definite article, e.g. the UK, the North Sea, the Thames, the Netherlands, or do not, e.g. Poland, Germany, England, London, Hyde Park, Buckingham Palace, The discussion is kept on a simple level, but it guides the viewers to developing a practical rule of article use they can both follow on a daily basis and further enhance on their own.
