In September of last year, our Toombs County community was shaken as Hurricane Helene tore through families, towns, and cities—leaving behind devastation, heartache, and uncertainty. In the midst of the storm’s aftermath, a light emerged. “Toombs Strong” was written by Martin Luther Wardlaw — a Dove Award and Stellar Award nominee — and performed by some of the most gifted vocalists in Toombs County alongside students from Brewton-Parker College. With the full support of the cities of Vidalia and Lyons, this powerful anthem and video were created to remind us of who we are: resilient, united, and unbreakable.
