Updated catchment descriptors for the FEH 2025 Statistical Method

In this webinar, the Flood Estimation Team at UKCEH present a set of updated catchment descriptors. We explain how these have been derived, and how and why they differ from their previous versions. The new descriptors have been used to recalibrate the FEH Statistical Method, and in some cases can lead to significant changes in flow estimates. The descriptors will be available with the next NRFA Peak Flows release and made available on the FEH Webservice at the same time. Speakers from the Environment Agency, National River Flow Archive, and Wallingford HydroSolutions were also on hand to assist answering any questions.
