We set out hoping to find fire agates, but instead stumbled across giant pink chalcedony plates, some of the biggest I’ve ever seen — some even with druzy quartz pockets and wild UV glows! From bubbly textures to brilliant colors, this location is packed with surprises, and the crystals are literally lying all over the ground if you know where to look. 🌵 Along the way, we: Hiked up steep mountain trails Explored untouched outcrops filled with hidden gems Got stuck with cactus spines (ouch — don’t try that at home!) Used UV light to reveal insane glowing patterns Took an ATV deep into the range for more exploration 💡 Did you know? Chalcedony is a microcrystalline variety of quartz that forms when silica-rich water from ancient volcanic activity fills cracks and bubbles in rocks.
