In this RCU tech Video - we are going to give you a tip on diagnosing a steering failure issue. Often this adjustment is misunderstood. And about 90% of the time this is the cause of steering loss. On the RedCat DSM-2C remote there is a dial under the lid labeled as "St. d/r”. This is the steering dual rate. This controls the percentage of steering in relation to the wheel on the rotation of the remote. So basically it controls how much the wheels turn. This dial goes from 0 to 6. Often this is adjusted or moved without the operator knowing what it affects or even on accident when adjusting another option or turning on the remote without the operator knowing it has been adjusted. Also because the steering and throttle trims are usually set to 0 often operators think this is supposed to be set to 0 as well. When this dial is set to 0 it actually is reducing the steering to 0%. So as you adjust this dial you will notice the wheels will more-more and more until the #6 where they are at 100%.
