#5torri #cinquetorri #trekking #dolomiti The Cinque Torri are located near Cortina d'Ampezzo near the Falzarego Pass. It is a rock formation composed of five spurs of rock, the highest of which reaches 2,361 meters. The most exciting part of this trek is the circular hike around the Cinque Torri that will allow you to appreciate these splendid rock faces from every angle, passing right next to them, therefore suitable for all types of hikers. The continued trekking from the Torre Grande to the direction to the Rifugio Scoiattoli first. And, We toured the Trincea alta to see the sites from World War I. The museum area begins just 5 minutes away from the Scoiattoli refuge. Walking through the trenches, you can imagine the living conditions of the soldiers who dug them during the First World War and lived there between 1915 and 1917. The World War 1 museum; Numerous information panels complete the experience with additional explanations of this event that has shaped our history and these mountains. The museum area can be visited on four routes. All four are very easy but of different lengths: M5a “Trincea alta” (approx. 20 minutes), M5b “Sentiero delle trincee” (approx. 30 minutes), M5c “Giro delle 5 Torri” (approx. 2 hours), M5d “Sentiero del lago” (approx. 2 hours). But you can also walk aimlessly through the trenches, read the information boards in Italian, German and English and identify with the life of the soldiers of that time. Passo di Falzarego; The Falzarego pass is a high mountain pass at an altitude of 2,109 m in the Veneto region, in the province of Belluno, 24 km from the Refuge Cinque Torri. This pass connects the territory of Agordo and the Badia Valley with Cortina d'Ampezzo via the Great Dolomites Road, the SS 48. When we reached Passo Falzarego, could see the pass surmounted for over 600 metres rocky mountain of the Piccolo Lagazuoi across the parking lot to the north. The surrounding rocky mountains were the scene of fierce fighting in the highlands between the Austrians and the Italians during the First World War. It was a very important strategic point, where on 5th July 1915 the first Italian attacks were launched against the Austro-Hungarian barrier at the Valparola pass. In memory of this war, today there is a monument(Fabrizio Sarenti) on the pass. I hope this video will be of some help to those of you who are planning a trip to Italy.
