The Sesame Street autism muppet is called Julia and they try to cover all aspects of the differences she faces to every day play. It was amazing to see a Sesame Street character with autism as it will help children understand autism and not just see it at autism awareness month once a year. It me the Sesame Street autism story is a fantastic way of highlighting some of the main issues that autistic people like Julia face on an every day basis, to help understanding for children and adults. For me i still think there is much more of this stuff to be input into Hollywood and TV in general, but this is a huge step forward.
