Brett Youngerman, MD, MS, Columbia University Irving Medical Center, New York, NY, discusses the advantages and disadvantages of stereoelectroencephalography (SEEG) as a diagnostic and predictive tool in epilepsy treatment. Despite the progression from subdural grids to SEEG, there is still a push to move towards non-invasive diagnostic techniques in epilepsy therapy. Dr Youngman explores new diagnostic possibilities with the advances in medical imaging and addresses the benefit of continuous data sharing in the medical community.
