Anterior Cruciate Ligament injures are one of the most commonly encountered knee injuries encountered in our day to day practice and Anterior Cruciate Ligament are very unstable injures and patients will have a lot of disability and discomfort. Such patients can be treated with arthroscopic reconstruction wherein we use the patients own muscles and tendons, called as autologous grafts, semitendinous grafts that are quadrupled and then inserted through small tunnel that are drilled into the knee bones that is the tibia and the femur and then subsequently fixed on either ends with implants, this performs the normal ACL functions as well as renders the knee more functions and patient can go to day to day activities. ACL surgeries have grown in stature as well as progressed in years and in earlier days the ACL reconstructions when compared to nowadays the ACL results are very good and patients can go back to their sporting activities.
