THE KING PAINTED DUEL ON ELEPHANTS AND LEGEND ABOUT THE COCK

This vlog is the 8th film about our 2 day journey on its own to Ayutthaya from Bangkok. 500 meters from the Great Temple of the Blessed Victory - Wat Yai Chai Mongkol - is the Temple of Naresuan the Great - King Ayutthaya. This place is rarely mentioned in guidebooks, but it is well known to the people of Thailand. In the temple of King Naresuan Shrine (Thai. พระ นเรศวร วัด ใหญ่ ชัยมงคล) is stored the image of a seated king. Nearby you will find thousands of sculptures of roosters, which were brought as a gift to the Thais. Alley with roosters stretched for hundreds of meters. Roosters near the Naresuan the Great monuments can be found throughout the country. Here you can also find sculptures of elephants. And this is connected with historical facts and legends. The symbols of the rooster 🐓 and the elephant 🐘 lead us into the sixteenth century and are associated with the name of the king Naresuan, the beloved monarch of the Thais. King Naresuan, also Naresuan the Great, Naresuan the Conqueror, Sanphat II (Thai. นเรศวร) - King of Siam in the period from 1590 to 1605. He is a national hero and one of the most revered monarchs of Thai history. During the reign of Naresuana, Siam reached its greatest size in its history. In the history of Thailand, Naresuan forever remained not only as a ruler who achieved the return of the country's independence and as the creator of a huge empire, but also as one of the greatest martial arts masters. Naresuan is revered as the actual founder of Muay Thai - Thai boxing. There is a legend connected with cock fighting, fighting cock and the name of the king of Naresuan. At an early age, Prince Naresuan was taken from Ayutthaya to Burma. Prince held hostage for nine years. There is a legend that once Prince Naresuan took part in cockfights with one of the Burmese princes. His cock defeated the Burmese champion cock. The Burmese prince was annoyed by this and exclaimed: "How good this captive rooster is!" Prince Naresuan replied: "This captive rooster can fight not only in gambling, but also to win back his kingdom." This indicates that the prince at such an early age was aware of himself as a hostage and dreamed of the independence of Ayutthaya from Burma. In another interpretation, instead of accepting a material reward for the victory, Naresuan asked for the freedom of Siam. The history of the battle on elephants more than 400 years ago, remains a source of Thai pride even today. Throughout the history of Siam, there have been wars with Burma. In the fifth and last campaign, the crown prince of Burma was killed by King Naresuan in an elephant duel. This was the most famous battle that brought the Siamese king victory over the Burmese troops. In 1592, a battle took place in the town of Nong Sarai. It was a key battle between Siam and Burma at this time. Thais fought fiercely against superior enemy forces. However, they began to retreat and were close to defeat. At this moment, King Naresuan showed incredible examples of strategy and valor. He is riding on his royal elephant, fighting with rows of enemy soldiers, looking for meetings on the battlefield with the Burmese crown prince Minchit Sra. Naresuan hit his sword with a sword and cut the body of the Burmese leader from shoulder to hip. The fight on the elephants was so fierce that the soldiers of both armies stopped fighting. Without a leader, the Burmese stopped the fight and retreated. The fight between Naresuan and Minchit Sra is known as Yuddhahatthi, Elephant Battle or Elephant Duel. This is one of the most memorable historical events in the history of Thailand. The shrines and statues of eminent monarchs of former days are scattered throughout Thailand, they are placed on the altars of thousands of temples and spiritual shrines. They have become an integral part of religious creeds and religious positions in Thailand. For the Thai people, King Naresuan the Great will forever remain a hero who deserves the honor and respect of the whole nation. January 18 is the day of commemoration of King Naresuan the Great and the warrior king. On this day in 1592, he defeated the Burmese Crown Prince, during the legendary elephant fight. In modern Thailand, this day is immortalized as the Day of the Royal Thai Army - Royal Thai. There are celebrations all over Thailand. On this holiday, to the monument to King Naresuan the Great and to the temples, they bring statues of roosters and elephants as a token of memory and deep respect. ★ Points on Google Maps ✓ King Naresuan Shrine Temple - http://bit.ly/2BOWRwG ✓ Alley with roosters - http://bit.ly/2EuL2gW Copyright © Irina Vodyanitskaya ❤ Historic 6 episode film about King Naresuan, made in Thailand, 2007-2015 Great Conqueror / Naresuan / Legend of King Naresuan, 1-2 episodes with Russian translation! ❤ WATCH THE VIDEO AND READ INFORMATION ABOUT OUR TRIPS IN AYUTTAYA PROVINCE - http://bit.ly/2SbHKTw
