(Shot Entirely on GoPro Hero 4 Silver with an EVO GP-PRO Gimbal) PARK HISTORY Eureka Springs Park was donated to Hillsborough County in 1967 by Albert Greenberg. Mr. Greenberg acquired the land in 1938 and developed it into a botanical garden of rare and exotic plants. The first tropical fish farm in Florida was started on the property, and the park's natural springs were once used for local baptisms. NATURAL HISTORY Much of the park has been left in its natural state and is home for many plants and animals that depend on the hardwood swamp for survival. The park's numerous springs are supplied by water from the Florida Aquifer. The water originated as rainfall which entered the ground in the sandy hills of Florida's central ridge and flowed to this region through caverns and porous limestone rock. A recently constructed canal just west of the park has caused the water pressure of the aquifer to drop, as a result the springs now flow only during the rainy season. FACILITIES Several trails and walkways lead through the park, including a 1, 700 ft. boardwalk. Other facilities include a green house display, party room - reservable, picnic shelters and picnic tables.
