This is the HD- 0 hardware. Fits on the HD- 0 Mini Police shield. This is the HD-0 mount kit that’s used for the HD-O Mini Police shield. It includes 2 rods, 2 handlebar clamps that are adjustable between 7/8th inch and 1 inch, 4 tea knobs, an allen wrench, 2 star washers, 2 mount barrels, and 2 chrome mount screws. Now we’re ready to start the installation. First of all take your shield and take your chrome screws that came in your barrels, push them through the front of the shield so they protrude out the back. Once they’re in place put the chrome steel lock washers on the back and tighten the barrel on. Do not over-tighten at this point because we’ll need room for adjustment. Once those are in place then you’ll take the rod that has a short end and a long end, you can use whatever end you want, whichever one works best for your needs or your bike. In this case we’re gonna put the short end through. Once the short end is through, take the tea knob and we’re just gonna put it in the back barrel to kinda hold the rods in place. Once again we’ll do it on the other side. On this point of the installation it’s time to move to the bike. Once we see approximately where the handlebar clamps need to be placed then we will go get the handlebar clamps, disassemble them, and then reassemble them on the bars. There’s no exact placement for the clamp. We designed the clamp so it can be done at quite a few different angles, it can be twisted, barrels can be turned, can be slid up, down, it all depends on what type of handlebar and kind of motorcycle you have. So there’s full adjustability on the clamp. The way it’s mounted now is barrel set up behind, it can also be set up and flipped around so the barrel is on the front of the bike. Take the shield, you’ll line up the rods with the barrels on the clamps and slide them through loosely. Don’t tighten anything at this point. We have a lot of adjustment to make. Now that it’s on you can tighten the tea knobs on the handlebar clamps just to kinda help you hold it in place. Then adjust your rods to the point and height in which you want them. Once they’re in place, tighten the tea knobs behind them. Step back, take a look, make sure everything’s the way you want it. Then do all the final tightening. Once the final tightening is done at the handlebar clamps and at the shield, it should be ready to ride. Remember after 100 miles or after your first full tank of gas, be sure and check all nuts, bolts and screws for loosening because of vibration. If they’re loose tighten them up. Enjoy the ride. After your shields all on, you’re out riding, get a few bugs on it, you can clean it all up with the Slipstreamer motorcycle windshield cleaner and polish. And remember, it’s just as important as what you wipe it off with. Only use 100% cotton cloth or a microfiber towel. I tell ya what we use here in the shop- baby diapers. Nothing works better.
