The 2017 Surface 604 Colt is a sturdy, purpose-built electric bike that would be great for neighborhood cruising, urban commuting or rentals, featuring an upgraded fork, SRAM X5 10 speed drivetrain and hydraulic disc brakes. I love the integrated LED lights, both run off the main battery pack and there's a USB charging port for portable electronics, you get five levels of torque sensing pedal assist and a trigger throttle drive mode. In my opinion the bike is priced very well considering the 48 volt Samsung battery pack, 500 watt hub motor and all of the creature comfort extras like ergonomic grips, adjustable angle stem, quality kickstand, fenders and chain guard. The bike weighs more due to the sturdy frame, integrated rack and larger battery, throttle mode doesn't work at zero (for safety) but also doesn't override assist at full power, charging port is near the left crank arm - a bit in harms way.
