Dua Al-Ahd - Keys to Paradise | دعای عهد

Dua al- Ahad (Arabic: دعاء العهد‎) is an Arabic language supplication in which we pledge allegiance to the awaited savior; Imam Mahdi. It is an incredible prayer, which part of the daily routine of many high ranking scholars and pious men and women in search of salvation and relief. Imam al-Sadiq spoke about the importance of reciting the supplication every morning. He stated that: “If one person read the supplication for 40 mornings, will be considered and counted as one of helpers of Imam Mahdi and if he (she) dies before the reappearance of Muhammad al-Mahdi, Allah will raise him (her) up from the grave.” In one section of the supplication, we say: “O Allah! If my death occurs before his coming, which you have decreed for your servants, then raise me from my grave, wrapped in my shroud, my sword unsheathed, my spear bared, answering the call of the caller [which is heard] in cities as well as deserts.” In this prayer, we beseech God for the chance to see Imam Mahdi in our lifetime. We also plead that the trials of this nation (and world) be resolved with the reappearance of the Mahdi. At the end, the reciter says: “Hasten! Hasten! O my Master, O Master of the time.” This phrase prays for the acceleration of the reappearance of Imam al-Mahdi.
