In this video we wanted to share an inspiring tour of our good friends' Chris & Susannah Adam's family home. On a 1/10th acre, they, along with their children, raise chickens, quail, ducks, rabbits, fruit trees, intensive annual gardens and have the best two-storey living willow structures we've ever sat in! Once a vegan, Chris now finds himself raising meat with compassion as part of an integrated front-yard fertility system for mixed vegetable & fruit production. This conscious food/animal rearing choice is not a prescription for everyone, but is made using an ethical & ecological lens that works for his family. He introduced us to the words of Kahlil Gibrán: “When you kill a beast, say to him in your heart. By the same power that slays you, I too am slain, and I too shall be consumed. For the law that delivers you into my hand shall deliver me into a mightier hand.
