Andrea Kimi Antonelli Testing the Mercedes-AMG GT3 EVO at Imola Circuit - 2024 Kateyama Test Days

With great surprise, the young driver Andrea Kimi Antonelli took to the track on the Imola circuit aboard the Mercedes-AMG GT3 EVO of the team managed and owned by his father, Marco, known as Antonelli Motorsport/AKM Motorsport. We are in March at a test day organized by Kateyama aimed at prototype sports cars and GTs. Andrea Kimi is currently competing in the fierce F2 championship with the Prema Racing team and is doing well. His future in racing seems to be at the wheel of the Mercedes-AMG F1 as George Russell's partner. The driver from Bologna knows this GT3 car well; in 2023, he had already taken part in a couple of races in the Italian GT Sprint Championship, obtaining a victory and finishing on the podium both times. The car adopts the naturally aspirated 6.3-litre V8 engine, which develops 550 HP and 650 Nm of torque moved by the 6-speed AMG sequential gearbox. Ci troviamo nel mese di Marzo ad una giornata di test organizzata da Kateyama rivolta a vetture sport prototipo e granturismo. Attualmente Andrea Kimi sta disputando l'agguerrito campionato di F2 con il team Prema Racing ben figurando e sembra che il suo futuro nelle corse sarà al volante della Mercedes-AMG F1 come compagno di George Russell. Il pilota bolognese conosce bene questa vettura GT3, nel 2023 aveva già disputato un paio di gare del Campionato Italiano GT Sprint ottenendo una vittoria e salendo sul podio entrambe le volte. La vettura adotta il motore V8 da 6.3-Litri aspirato che sviluppa 550 Hp e 650 Nm di coppia mosso dal cambio sequenziale AMG a 6 rapporti.
